If you operate a handheld laser for cleaning, painting, rust removal, or for laser welding, this course is for you. This livestreamed class is intended for anyone operating a handheld laser or working in the vicinity of a handheld laser. We will cover the fundamentals of laser safety as it applies to handheld lasers; explain how lasers are classified and how lasers work; what makes lasers dangerous to people and their environment; what laser safety standards users should follow; who regulates laser users and laser manufacturers; how to protect personnel from accidental exposure to dangerous laser radiation; and other ancillary hazards. This class will be a 3.5 hour live-streamed class with opportunities for questions at the end and throughout the session.
